Much of that decade has been spent alongside listed companies, where the reporting calendar is fixed and the standard of documentation is not negotiable. That is the standard he brings to every file. A substantial part of his practice is with non-resident Indians — residential status, income from property and investments in India, withholding on remittances, and the returns and forms that follow from each.
Within the firm he leads indirect tax advisory, compliance design, and financial reporting and management information for growing businesses.
Avinash is a Partner at Virevon Global Advisory LLP. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and has built his practice in tax litigation — GST and income tax alike.
His work runs from the first reply to a notice through to appeal: reading the record, framing the position, assembling the documentation, and appearing before the authorities. Departmental audits, show-cause proceedings, input tax credit and mismatch disputes, and assessment and reassessment matters are the day-to-day. He writes the position down before he argues it, so the file can be defended years later by someone who was not in the room.
He also leads the firm's work with e-commerce sellers, including businesses operating on Amazon FBA. That means marketplace settlement reports reconciled against the books, place-of-supply and stock-transfer questions across fulfilment centres, TCS credit, and the state-wise registrations and returns that follow from holding stock in more than one state.
