Services — Income Tax

Income-tax notices and assessments, handled from the first reply.

Most income-tax proceedings now run on the e-filing portal, through faceless assessment units, with deadlines that count from the day the notice is uploaded. We work these matters online for individuals, NRIs and businesses across India, and appear at hearings where one is fixed.

How we work a notice

Four steps, in this order.

  1. Read the notice and the record behind it.

We download the notice, the reasons recorded and the information the department relies on, and check them against the return, the AIS and the books.

  2. Fix the deadline first.

Each notice carries its own response date. We confirm it on the portal and, where more time is genuinely needed, ask for it in writing before it lapses.

  3. Settle the position, then write it once.

The first reply sets the record the assessing officer and any appellate forum will read. We decide the position, assemble the evidence to support it, and file a reply that can stand on its own.

  4. Tell you where you stand.

Including when the position is weak, so you can weigh settlement, rectification or appeal on the realistic range of outcomes.

Representation

Tell us what arrived and when.

Share the notice, the date it was uploaded and the assessment year. If the response date is close, say so in the first line and we will treat it accordingly. Representation is conducted by the legally qualified members of the firm, supported by the technical and documentation work of the wider team.
